Canary Varieties

These little birds are ideal for small living quarters and do very well in captivity. Though primarily a cage bird, they make excellent pets for beginners and do not harm children. They are very hardy, docile, and have low care requirements. They are also fairly easy to breed.

Caique Family

There are two species of Caiques, containing five subspecies. Both the White-bellied Caique species and the Black-headed Caique species are not only some of the most colorful birds in the parrot family, but are extremely intelligent. They are not great talkers but they love to learn tricks and show off!

Amazon Parrots

The Amazon Parrots, often simply called Amazons or Amazon birds, are some of the most popular pet birds. They are medium to large parrots belonging to genus Amazona, and originally called Green Parrots. They are mostly green birds, but with splashes of bright color on or around their head as well as their wings and tail feathers. They are long lived, up to 50 years or more in a good environment.

Rainbow Bee-Eaters

Rainbow Bee-Eaters
A beautiful pair of rainbow bee-eaters; this shot was taken in my backyard in the top end of Australia's Northern Territory. The male is the one with the longer center tail feather.
